  • What payment methods do you accept?
    We accept all major credit and debit cards, with transactions securely processed through Stripe. We also offer invoice and purchase order options for businesses — simply select Manual Payment at checkout.
  • What is your refund or cancellation policy?
    If you have already logged in to the course, we are unable to offer a refund. If you have not logged in, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase.
  • Can I set up an account with Koal?

  • How do I enrol in a course at Koal?
    Explore our selection of online training programs. Click on the course you are interested in to view its detailed description, learning objectives, prerequisites, duration, and refresher information. Once you have chosen a course, click the "Add to Cart" or "Buy Now" button. You will be prompted to complete the checkout process. The Koal team will receive notification of your purchase and promptly load you into the training system. We aim to process this within the same business day. If you purchase outside of working hours (8am–5pm, Monday to Friday), your training will be processed the next business day. If it seems your access is taking longer than expected, please contact us at support@koal.co.nz so we can get it sorted.
  • How can I enrol multiple learners?
    At checkout, purchase the quantity of courses to match the number of learners you wish to enrol. Select I am purchasing more than one licence, or I am purchasing this course on behalf of another user. A text box will appear for you to enter each learner’s full name and email address. This allows us to provide unique links to access the training. Complete the checkout process, and the Koal team will receive notification and process learner access. If you prefer, or have a bulk enrolment request, please email support@koal.co.nz and we can provide an Excel template.
  • Can I start the course immediately after purchase?
    The Koal team will receive notification of your purchase and promptly load you into the training system. We aim to process this within the same business day. If you purchase outside of working hours (8am–5pm, Monday to Friday), your training will be processed the next business day. If it seems your access is taking longer than expected, please contact us at support@koal.co.nz so we can get it sorted.
  • Is the training self-paced or scheduled?
    All of our online training options are self-paced. You can take as long as you need and complete the course at your own pace. As you progress, your progress will be saved. You’ll also be able to access the training after completion if you wish to revisit it.
  • Where do I access my online training?
    Your online training is hosted on our Learning Management System at koaltraining.co.nz When entering the URL into your browser, please leave off the www. Our hosting is set up to work without the www, so including it will cause an error. If you experience any issues, please reach out to support@koal.co.nz
  • What happens if I forget my login details?
    Enter your username or email address — we set these to be the same, so just use your email address. Click Reset Password and a link will be emailed to you.
  • I can’t find my training in my account — where is it?
    First, please ensure you have logged in to koaltraining.co.nz Your training will not appear under the profile you created on our main website (koal.co.nz) where you purchased the course — it is hosted separately on our Learning Management System. The Koal team will receive notification of your purchase and promptly load you into the training system. We aim to process this within the same business day. If you purchase outside of working hours (8am–5pm, Monday to Friday), your training will be processed the next business day. If it seems your access is taking longer than expected, or your training is not showing on your account, please contact us at support@koal.co.nz so we can get it sorted.
  • How do I access my certificates?
    Upon completion of your course, navigate to Transcript. All of your completed trainings will be listed, with a Download button to access your certificate. If you experience any issues or need assistance, please contact us at support@koal.co.nz
  • How do you keep your training up to date?
    All of our online training is regularly reviewed to ensure it aligns with current health and safety legislation and guidance. If any significant changes occur that affect workers, learners enrolled at that time will be notified by email, free of charge.
  • What is refresher training and why is it important?
    Refresher training updates a learner’s knowledge after their initial training, ensuring skills and understanding remain current. Each course includes a recommended refresher timeframe to prompt learners to re-confirm their knowledge. In an ever-changing environment, best practice guidelines, laws, and requirements can shift. Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, risks must be managed so far as is reasonably practicable. Refresher training is a clear, measurable way to reduce risk and assess ongoing training and competency requirements. Whether the recommended refresher is industry best practice or not, employers should review and strongly consider refresher dates to ensure they are meeting their obligations. All of our online training is regularly reviewed to ensure it aligns with current health and safety legislation and guidance. If any significant changes occur that affect workers, learners enrolled at that time will be notified by email, free of charge.
  • How are Koals refresher periods set?
    Our recommended refresher periods are based on a combination of industry best practice, large PCBU requirements, and the nature of the risks associated with each topic. We review guidance from regulators, industry bodies, and subject matter experts to determine timeframes that help ensure knowledge remains current and competency is maintained. All of our online training is regularly reviewed to ensure it aligns with current health and safety legislation and guidance. If any significant changes occur that affect workers, learners enrolled at that time will be notified by email, free of charge.
  • Are Koal courses NZQA-accredited?
    Koal is not NZQA-accredited. Our aim is to provide affordable, practical, and relevant training that meets current New Zealand legislation, best practice guidelines, and large PCBU requirements. This flexibility from the NZQA structure allows us to update and tailor our courses quickly, ensuring content remains current and aligned with industry needs.
  • Can you customise a course to be specific to our business?
    Yes, Koal can incorporate your policies, procedures, forms, permits, or any other relevant information into our existing course options, or create bespoke content for you. This ensures learners can seamlessly apply their new skills in your workplace.
  • Can we host Koal created training on our own LMS?
    Yes, we can provide training packages in SCORM or other compatible formats for hosting on your own Learning Management System. We’ll work with you to ensure the files are set up correctly and function as intended on your platform.
  • Can you deliver a course at our workplace?
    Koal can deliver training nationwide. If you require training at your workplace please get in contact for a tailored quote. Please note that travel and accommodation disbursements may apply.
